Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) based in Ghaziabad is to become the centre of excellence (CoE) for promoting protective textiles in the country. Protective clothing including garments and accessories intended to protect people from hazardous materials come under the protective textiles category. NITRA is among the four research stations set up in 1975 by government of India to promote textile research.
